Hayao Miyazaki is considered the premier Japanese anime artist. He has created dozens of brilliant films, and the Disney Company has made it their goal to make sure he is known around the world. His art has its own unique look that makes him a master of the genre.

Spirited Away is a whimsical, dramatic film. The art is unusual and creates an entirely different world for viewers. Although people are much the same in the human and spirit worlds, the landscape differs enough to make the spirit world seem like a fantasy. The dramatic moments in the film are marked by greater darkness that gives a sense of mystery and fear.

The music in the film also adds to the mood. Viewers are able to tell what the characters are thinking and feeling by the music playing in the background. It generally fits in with the story as well....
