Training for Revenge

Training for revenge is a popular motif in many movies, including kung fu movies and mainstream movies such as the Rocky (1976) series of movies, Karate Kid (1984) and many others. In this film the training for revenge motif was a flashback to Beatrix's training under Pai Mei. The skills she learned from Pai Mei served her well and enabled her to exact her revenge on the murderers of her fiancé and the members of the wedding rehearsal.

The training for revenge montage had typical background music for this type of scene and played on this popular motif well with the aloof, tough but somewhat comedic trainer and the struggling, dedicated trainee.
