Description
Peter Warne is an arrogant, self-centered newspaperman. He spends much of his time drinking, gambling, and chasing women. We first meet Peter while he is drunk and calling his boss to quit his job. Peter's rash decision seems to make him the less responsible of the two main characters, but we soon learn that he is quite capable of taking care of himself.
Peter meets Ellie on the bus after tossing newspapers out the window to make a seat for him self. Peter's pushy ways annoy Ellie who is accustomed to being treated with special respect because of her father's money. Peter seems to ignore her demand for special attention and treats her like any other person.
After discovering Ellie's true identity, Peter decides to help.....
