Journey

The journey is arguably the most popular motif in film and literature. Once again, it is used in Big Fish. Ed is a small town boy who's simply too big for his surroundings. He finds his way out to pursue his big dreams by taking care of Karl the Giant.

Ed continues his journey with a stop in Specter before he hits the circus and sees Sandra. From that point on, he makes it his purpose to find and win her. Although it takes him almost a year to find and win Sandra, his journey still doesn't end there. He goes on to have Will and pass the stories on down.
