It would seem that the three types of biotechnology are in competition with each other. With both white and green biotechnology, preventing foods from being harmful seems almost pointless. In green biotechnology, the plants are genetically altered to grow in a desired and life a long life and not go bad. With white biotechnology, the contamination of food and water is prevented.
The moral issues regarding biotechnology are a matter of life and death. The development of our biotech future will depend on the moral conclusions we choose to embrace which will decide if scientists are free to study as they wish or are controlled by government regulation.
