Plot Summary of "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"

Summary: "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" by Ann Brashares is about the friendship of four 15-year-old girls. The main themes of the novel are that you shouldn't misjudge people, to have self-control, to not shut yourself away from the world and reject love, and to be open to change.
I just finished reading a book called the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares. The book is about four fifteen year old girls that have been friends since birth. In this book the girls decide to stay in touch over the summer through letters and the wearing of a pair of pants that "magically" fit all four girls. It starts out in present day Bethesda, Maryland but the girls, and the pants, travel to South Carolina, Baja California, and Greece.

The author has Carmen, one of the four main characters, narrate both the prologue and the epilogue. However the book itself is narrated in the third person viewpoint. It does not just tell one story, but rather tells four mini stories. Each story depicts a different characters' summer adventure.
