Characters and Plot of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"

Summary: An overview of the C.S. Lewis novel "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe," a summary of its characters and a comparison to the movie version.
The book, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is a story about four children, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy, who lived in London England during WW2. They were sent to live in the countryside to escape the bombings caused by the attacks on London to live with an old professor and his assistants.

While playing hide and seek, Lucy discovers a cupboard to hide in. She walked to the back of it as far as she could, and, expecting to feel the back wall of the cupboard was surprised to find it was not there, and instead there was snow on the ground with towering fir trees.

She returns to the real world and finds that no time at all had passed. Her older siblings don't believe her, until she convinces them to follow her and see for themselves.

They discover Narnia and meet two talking beavers...
