Summary: The late 19th century industrialists did much to further America's economic interests despite those who would call them "robber barons." They were responsbile for turning out affordable products and advancing manufacturing technology.
"The first man gets the oyster, the second man gets the shell."(Brainy) This was very true according to the fact that sometimes a person is just at the right spot at the right time. In this case the industrialists of the late nineteenth century entered the right industries at just the right time. These industrialists were the gatekeepers to this new industrial America. With a population growing ever more rapidly every day and the demand for products also growing, these men rose up to the call and established themselves as "Captains of Industry." Without them we may have not survived this era in time and would be no where near where we are today.
