Summary:   Prejudice is a word meaning the one-sided opinion of a person. In "To Kill A Mockingbird", the main message is to treat all people, of different races, colors and creeds as they themselves would like to be treated. There are three types of prejudice in this novel, being racism, social prejudice, and religious prejudice.

Prejudice is a word meaning the one-sided opinion of a person. In "To Kill A Mockingbird", the main message is to treat all people, of different races, colors and creeds as they themselves would like to be treated. There are three types of prejudice in this novel, being racism, social prejudice, and religious prejudice. The town of Maycomb is an aging one, and the lack of contact with the outside world, along with the seeming poverty cause some of the prejudice. The community fuels the racism in Maycomb, and the foot-washers influence the prejudice of the Radley family. During the trial of Tom Robinson, there is no professional to give his opinion on whether or not Tom could have committed the crime.
