Does Technology Have a Mind of Its Own?

Summary:   With technology progressing so quickly, many people wonder as to whether one day computers will have their own personalities and will be considered a being. Computers are already very similar to humans in some ways, but they are incredibly different in many other ways. Unlike humans, computers cannot work without instruction, cannot think for themselves, cannot react except through what is known, and lack feelings and personalities.


The debate over whether machines can think, whether they have a personality of their own has been in discussion for many years. With technology progressing so quickly and with such force, it is no surprise that many people wonder as to whether one day machines such as computers will have their own personalities and will be considered a being. What many people do not realize is that computers are already very similar to humans, but despite that, humans and computers are so incredibly different. Computers do not have the same qualities as humans, and artificial intelligence is just that; imitation.

Humans and computers are different because computers do not have emotions. Humans can make choices for themselves, and can decide for themselves when they are tired, when they are distressed and when they are happy. Computers.....
