Edward Britton by Gary Crew and Philip Nielson is an Australian novel about two young boys Edward Britton and Izod Wolfe who were sent to Point Puer Boys' Prison to serve out their sentence. Point Puer Boys' Prison was a prison in Van Demon's Land where many young boys under the age of eighteen were sent for committing crimes. The boys were originally from Britain and were transported to Australia- the penal colony- where they struggled and suffered each day.

Edward Britton was sent to the camp after he was falsely accused of stealing a theatrical costume from the theatre company he worked at. Edward was an intelligent, strong- willed boy who could read and write fluently and didn't really deserve to be there.
