Summary: Santiago was able to go through the obstacles because he has dedication and hope. Most people give up when an obstacle comes because they think it's too hard to face so they give up. If you really want to accomplish your dreams you should never give up on the obstacles, because they can teach you lessons.
A Dream's Obstacle

Sometimes to complete one's dream obstacles must be faced for it to be fulfilled. Throughout the book The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, Santiago encounters some troubles on his journey to complete his dream. While he faces his obstacles and overcomes them, he learns a lesson.

Getting to the pyramids would not only take dedication, but money as well. When he started his journey he had money, but he made a friend that was going to help him get to the pyramids, but was actually a thief. He took Santiago's money and was never found again.
