The Importance of the "Guide of Reason"
The "guide of reason" is a concept from the Renaissance period that is used to describe the need of the people from this specific time period to have their questions answered about certain issues such as their connection with God and what their place was in the world or even the universe. The "guide of reason" is another way of saying keeping order by creating structures within society that everyone can and will follow. The "guide of reason" was an important concept during the Renaissance period and was a key factor in the lifestyles of people in the early sixteenth to the late seventeenth centuries. Due to the important role that the "guide of reason" played, it heavily influenced society, religion, politics and the literature of the time, of which I will prove in the following.
