Summary: A summary of a paper written by Neal D. Ryan titled "Treatment of Depression in Children and Adolescents." The paper is a review of studies about the hereditary and environmental factors that lead to depression in children.
According to Neal D. Ryan's article, 14-25 percent of youth experience one major episode of depression before adulthood(933). However treatment of depression in youth has not been a focused area of study. In the article, "Treatment of Depression in Children and Adolescents", Ryan makes valid conclusions on contributions to depression and different forms of treatment. Throughout the his paper, Ryan makes great points and uses his research to create a well written paper.

In the article, Ryan spoke about different forms of treatment for depression in children and adolescents. He stated that major contributions are genetic and environmental(933).
