The Tragedy of Julius Caesar - Tragic Hero

Summary:   In The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, by William Shakespeare, there are a great many tragic heroes. One of these heroes is Marcus Brutus the noble Roman. Brutus is a tragic hero because he faces and accepts death with honor, is responsible for his own fate, and he has a tragic flaw.

In The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, by William Shakespeare, there are a great many tragic heroes. One of these heroes is Marcus Brutus the noble Roman. Brutus is a tragic hero because he faces and accepts death with honor, is responsible for his own fate, and he has a tragic flaw. Brutus's qualities and decisions eventually lead to his own downfall, and possibly the fall of his own Country. In The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, Marcus Brutus is a perfect example of a tragic hero.

In many ways, Brutus's main blemishes lead to his own spiraling downfall. His decisions were always dignified and cordial to his beloved Rome and were never conflicted by feelings.
