The Unethical Practice of Animal Experimentation

Jeremy Bentham once said, "The question is not, Can they reason? Nor Can they talk? But, Can they suffer?" Scientific testing done on animals for the benefit on humans is based on a simple contradiction. The scientific experiments conducted on animals in the attempts to aid the human population are a series of unnecessary, inhumane, and unethical tests that in reality cause negative effects to humans. Humans are subjected to inaccurate data about certain drugs, the animals are caused severe and sometimes fatal pain, large amounts of time, money and resources are wasted and the distance between humans and animals is forced wider apart. Many believe that testing on animals is okay, as they are not capable of the same feelings that humans are and therefore cannot feel pain as humans do.
