In this essay question, I shall discuss how far the League of Nations was successful in achieving its aims of maintaining the peace after the first World War and removing the underlying international causes of conflict. In spite of its initial weaknesses, durin g the period before the Great Depression, the League of Nations was able to live up to some of the expectations of its founders. In continuation, the aggreements were reached during this period that inspired hope for a peaceful future and on the other hand indicate the flaws that remained will be discussed.
