Summary:   John Steinbeck's novel Of Mice and Men shows strong, important themes that tie the main ideas and morals of the novel together to make it a great American classic. These themes include loneliness and companionship, the corrupting power of women, idealized male friendship, and the impossibility of the American Dream.


Of Mice and Men, a novel by the great American author John Steinbeck who writes with a unique style and includes realistic themes. In this novel there are many important themes observed. Some of these themes include loneliness and companionship, the corrupting power of women, idealized male friendship, and the impossibility of the American Dream. In writing themes are fundamental and often important ideas that are explained in the literary work and helps bring the novel together.

Of Mice and Men starts off with two migrant workers George and Lennie on their way to new ranch hand jobs they've hired too. They arrive at the ranch a day later than expected, and are questioned by the ranch owner. George does all the talking and explains how it's the bus drivers fault for their tardiness.
