Summary: In December 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat in the middle of the bus to a white man who wanted to sit in her row.
When I hear the word `racism', what comes to my mind is how people have treated African-Americans over the years. Some people think racism against African-Americans is gone, but those people are wrong. It might not be as strong enough as it was years ago, but it is still there. It doesn't sound right to me that some white people would be proud of something that was given to them when they were born, such as skin color and nationality. Instead it would make sense for them to be proud of something they had earned. The reason why racism began against African-Americans is that some white people thought that they were superior to black people because of the black people's skin color.
