Summary: The character of Lady Brett Ashley is symbolized by the bulls in "The Sun Also Rises" by Ernest Hemingway. She is a free spirit who ruins the lives of men with whom she comes in contact. The pain she inflicts comes back upon herself and she loses her self-respect.
