Liberty and Justice for All!!!

Summary:   America should grant legal amnesty to all illegal immigrants living in America who apply for it by June 1, 2006. Everyone has immigrated to America at some point in time, and as we are a country of liberty and justice for all, we have a moral obligation to give immigrants the same freedoms we have as Americans. Granting amnesty to illegal immigrants would also greatly help our economy.

Sir Winston Churchill once said the pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity where as the optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty. We can clearly see that in the matter of illegal immigration America needs to see the opportunity in the difficulty it is presented with. As Americans we need to grant all people, no matter what situation they come from the right to a life of freedom. That is why America should grant legal amnesty to all illegal immigrants living in America who apply for it by June 1, 2006. We will discuss this in three main points of analysis. The first point being that everyone has immigrated to America at one point in time. The second point being that as a country of liberty and justice for all we have a moral obligation to give immigrants the same freedoms we have as Americans. And the third and final point that granting illegal immigrants amnesty would greatly help our economy.

Now to my first point, that everyone has immigrated to America at one point in time. We all have different back rounds. Our ancestors were all born in different countries. And the main reason that we are able to live in such a wonderful country is because the America gave us a chance to reside in a country made up of endless opportunities. If we as Americans deny immigrants the right to migrate into America, we are denying them a right that was granted to us, which is utter hypocrisy. We need to stay true to the fact that America is proud of being a melting pot of ethnicities. And that we allow the oppressed to find salvation in a country that values human rights. If we don't do this we are denying people their basic human rights of liberty and justice for all, which as Americans we advocate the most.

This leads me to my second point, which is being a country of liberty and justice for all we have a moral obligation to give immigrants the same freedoms we have as Americans. Like I have clearly stated we need to grant all people the chance of a life of freedom. By granting amnesty to these illegal immigrants, we will be granting them a life without oppression. We would be allowing them to live their lives in peace, which is what many Americans take advantage of today. Because Americans are born with privileges we also hold the responsibility of specific obligations. One of our main obligations is to help the people that were born into poverty, oppression, and a life of dictatorship. All we need to do as Americans to fulfill this goal is to find it in our hearts to allow people subjected to horror to find serenity in our accepting country. If we turn our backs at the time these people need it the most, we would be representing ourselves as a heart - less county with no morals or values. A country that only cares for itself when it has the means of helping others.

This leads me to my third and final point, which is granting illegal immigrants amnesty would greatly help our economy. Currently there are millions of illegal immigrants living in America today. If America were to grant the citizenship, it would allow them to obtain legal high paying jobs. This leads to the means of taxation. If American now has millions of jobs now being accounted for than America can now collect millions of dollars worth of taxes. This would boost our economy greatly, considering that the people who are not accounted for do not pay taxes, while using all the resources necessary for living that America offers. Therefore America would earn money back that went to the unaccounted for citizens. Not only would taxes be paid, but also the immigrants who were made legal would now have better jobs, which will contribute to the economy positively. Whenn America is in such a high deficit it can only benefit us if all Americans contribute to an economy they so severely look to in time of need.

In a time with so much war and oppression is happening in the world, the least America can do is to open its arms to those who are subjected to all of the shortcomings in life. By doing this America can truly become the land of the free and the brave...............................with liberty and justice for all! And in following our beliefs America will find only the best opportunities, in time of numerous difficulties as Sir Winston Churchill once said.
