The Civil War

Summary: Bruce Catton gives his readers a very descriptive mental image about how life was back in the mid-1800's in his book, The Civil War, from both the North and South point of view. The South was more of a agricultural society. The only thing that was highly in demand from the South was their cotton which was their only agricultural product that grew in abundance. Both the North and the South wanted to make their societies grow and be successful but they needed the governments support.
