Summary: This Essay will compare the gospel of Matthew and his point of view of Jesus compared to Mel Gibson's Movie 'The Passions'.

For the last 2000 odd years there's been many ways people

have seen the image of Jesus Christ this is due to how

people interpret the scriptures, life experiences

and personal background. The two demonstrations

of this I will make will be the comparison for the gospel

of Matthew and Mel Gibson movie The Passion.

At the start of Matthew's gospel he tries and establish the link

to the house of David by explaining Jesus' genealogy

but tries to suggest that he is not the son of David

but indeed the son of Abraham by this he is a man

of Israel and thus tries later on re-teach Israel

law according to the 12 commandments and

Jesus to fulfil these laws.

This explains many of the ways Matthew sore Jesus

  1. Linking Jesus to Abraham making Jesus a Jewish man.
  2. A teacher to reteach the laws of Israel
