The book, "Journey to the Centre of the Earth", is a very interesting book about a boy named Axel Lidenbrock. He had a large collection of stones and rocks and had a great appetite for geological science. He also had a rich, German uncle who is a geologist and naturalist. His name is Professor Otto Lidenbrock. Axel lives with his uncle and his 17 year old god- daughter, Martha, in the second largest city of Germany, which is Hamburg in a little house.

One day Professor Otto Lidenbrock bought an original runic manuscript of an Icelandic saga. When they are reading the manuscript, they find a note with weird symbols written in ancient runic script. The professor spoke 2,000 different languages and 4,000 dialects and still couldn't figure it out until a while later.
