Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 as the first son and second child to Rev. Martin Luther King Sr. and Alberta Williams King. He graduated with a B.A. in Sociology from Morehouse College. The summer after, he enrolled in the Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester, Pennsylvania. While at Crozer, King also studied at the University of Pennsylvania. He received many awards throughout his years at the University of Pennsylvania, marking his outstanding academic achievements. By the end of his schooling, Martin Luther King Jr. had received 20 doctorate degrees. He married a woman by the name of Coretta Scott in 1953.

When Rosa Parks was arrested in 1955, King called a meeting of the black community in Montgomery and became the organizer of the Montgomery Bus Boycott through this action. Throughout the years of the civil rights movement, Martin Luther King served as a leader to activists across the nations. He also delivered many nationally covered addresses to those that followed him, his most famous being the "I have a dream..." speech on the March on Washington in 1963. Being a follower of Ghandi, King's stands and protests were always peaceful and violence rarely occurred due to his followers. He was one of the world's greatest leaders of all time and changed the outcome for African-Americans forever. King was sadly assassinated on April 4, 1968 and is buried in Atlanta.
