A True Hero: A Biography of Terry Fox

Summary: Canada's Terry Fox is a true hero. He raised more than $360 million for cancer research and awareness by running ultramarathons through the Marathon of Hope organizations with an artificial leg. He was an inspiration for people to never give up on their hopes and dreams.
"I'm not a dreamer, and I'm not saying this will initiate any kind of definite cure to cancer, but I believe in miracles. I have to." That is the type of attitude that got Terry approximately half way across Canada. Because of this, his heroism has raised over three hundred sixty million dollars for cancer research and awareness. Clearly, Terry Fox, who ran over 42 km a day through wind and snow with an artificial leg, displayed the characteristics of a true hero who set a standard of excellence, raised money for cancer research, and most of all, inspired people to never give up their dreams or hopes.
