Essay on William Butler Yeats
William Butler Yeats was born in 1865 to a Sligo family. Yeats' childhood was spent toing and froing between England and Ireland. Yeats lived and wrote through a period in time that involved much change both in poetry and society as a whole. Yeats's early style is greatly influenced by the Romantic Movement this style is apparent in 'The Lake Isle of Innisfree' a poem written by a young idealistic Yeats.
As Yeats grew older his style changed and so did his ideas. He began to pluck his ideas from the political situations and the cultural changes going on in Ireland at the time. His poems registered his reactions to current events and let us know his thoughts on modern Ireland. 'September 1913' is a prime example of Yeats new style; this poem.....
