Summary: As a famous surrealist artist Rene Magritte has managed to skillfully incorporate many of the art elements and principles into his paintings to create mystery. With his original style and unusual use of juxtaposition Magritte's work will continue to always be admired.

René François Ghislain Magritte, was a renowned surrealist artist, who composed the painting, `La Cordé Sensible' in the1960's. Magritte was essentially famous for his juxtaposition of objects which undoubtedly made his artworks original, creative and appealing in the period. He suggested new interpretations of old things in his own unique style, and is admired around the world even today.

Born in Belgium in 1898 Magritte grew up in Lessines. Attracted to painting as a young boy he started taking art classes at the age of twelve. In 1912 his mother committed suicide, this tragedy would have an everlasting effect on the adolescent Magritte and some say it was even portrayed through some of his later paintings.
