I chose this poem because we both understand that people from western cultures need to be aware of poverty issues and react to them in such a way that it positively affects people living in poverty and devastation. Some people don't contribute in any way to help these people dying in these poverty stricken countries. Not only do they fail to help or attempt to help these people but some just don't care or chose not to care for various reasons.

1. The purpose of this poem, Foodless Children, is to reveal the ignorance of people living in a western culture/country like Australia or the United States. They don't even realise the full extent of people's sufferings, or they chose to overlook and ignore it.
