Should School Uniforms Should Be Compulsory?

Summary: Debates if school uniforms should be compulsory in Australia. Considers how uniforms decrease the amount of peer pressure and decrease the conflicts related to stereotypical conflict between `culture' groups.
It is very appalling to see that the Education Department isn't making an effort in enforcing uniforms to be compulsory in all schools throughout Australia. The Government should also be involved in this issue that concerns many parents, teachers, students and family members. Many students would agree that there are more positives then negative effects of having school uniforms compulsory, such as that uniforms isn't costed effective to parents, they decrease the amount of peer pressure and decrease the conflicts related to stereotypical conflict between `culture' groups.

One of the main things that parents are more concerned about is Uniforms being expensive. It is agreeable that uniforms do cost a lot of money in the short term, but in the long term it would save a lot for parents because it would encourage parents to save their money, rather then spending their money constantly buying casual clothes for...
