Saint Joan of Arc was a courageous and selfless woman who acted upon her sense of justice in her "mission to save France" (Lives of the Saints). She was born in Domrémy, Champagne on 6 of January 1412 (see appendix one and two) and was burnt at the stake at Roen 30 of May 1431. She was nineteen years old. Some thirty years later, Joan of Arc was absolved of all guilt and was ultimately canonised in 1920 by Pope Benedict XV. This officialised what people had known for centuries and gave Joan of Arc the credit she well deserved. But why did the Catholic Church change its views on Joan of Arc? To thoroughly answer this question, the life of Joan of Arc must be revealed.
