"Johnny Got His Gun" by Dalton Trumbo is a story about a man who loses all his limbs, hearing and sight in a war. The devastation of the character of Joe Bonham and the horrors of war make this an antiwar piece of literaure.

The book Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo was a great book. I have in the past and at present fond out, from many sources, what war is like. I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly that war has to offer. This book shows mainly the portion of war that isn't all glamorous. But many may ask, even though Trumbo shows the ugly side of war is this book beyond doubt an anti-war book? In my opinion yes this book authentically shows an anti-war theme. In the cracks and crevices of almost every page you can almost smell a fragrance of dislike towards war and all associated with war by Dalton Trumbo and even by Joe Bonham, the main character of the story.
