A Testimony in Defence of Louis Riel

Summary:   This is a testimony written to defend Louis Riel in the most famous trial in Canadian History.


May it please your Honors, gentlemen of the jury:

With us today, we have a man who has done what no man has ever done before. He is the only man that is brave enough to take a stand against those who discriminate. He had sacrificed his own reputation, to help those who are of outcast amongst our society. He had gone above and beyond, to fight for the equality of men, who had been in the shadows for many years. With all that he has done for the freedom of men, we find him standing before us, convicted of murder, betrayal, and of high treason. However, the only thing that he should be convicted of is being the only man who took a step and demanded change within our nation for the better of all men.....
