The short story "The Storm" written by McKnight Malmar is about a woman who comes back from holiday, to find an empty house. She was expecting her husband Ben to be home. The story is set in an outer suburb of New York, during a storm. The woman starts hearing strange noises and seeing things. She starts getting suspicious of her husbands business and why he is not home. The two main characters involved in this story are husband and wife, Ben and Janet. Janet suspects Ben of a terrible murder and she runs into the safety of the storm to escape from him
