Pendulum Motion

Summary:   Provides details of a physics experiment analyzing the motion of a pendulum. Attempts to determine the effects of a pendulum with varying factors. These factors included mass, length, and amplitude.

Introduction:

The purpose of this experiment was to determine the effects of a pendulum with varying factors. These factors included mass, length, and amplitude.

Variables:

Controlled: cycles (10), repeats (3)

Dependant: length, mass, amplitude, time

Materials and Method:

All the equipment for the experiment was gathered. Using string and a meter stick a pendulum was created.

The first factor tested was the length. A weight of 100g was added to the bottom of the string and amplitude was measured to be 61cm. These factors were kept constant. The string was then released in a pendulum motion. The time it took for 10 cycles was then recorded. This experiment was tested 4 times using varying lengths of string. All results were recorded.

The second factor to be tested was mass. A length of 85cm and amplitude of 61cm was used. These.....
