My View:
I personally believe he got what he deserved. His defence of not having "sufficient" evidence to me is not good enough. Mr Doff was Mr Rivkins agent, and both of them interacted together constantly. Therefore I cannot understand how it is that Rene Rivkins could have known this information and that Mr Doff didn't it. I believe it is too much of a coincidence that on the same day that Rene Rivkins decided to buy 50000 Qantas Shares that Mr Doff all of a sudden decided to buy some Qantas shares as well. Therefore by using this information it is Insider trading as he/they were one of the few who knew.....
