The Second Coming of Christ

Summary:   A short interpretation of what the Bible says about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The coming of Christ is not to be confused with the Rapture.


The Second Coming of Christ is sometimes mistaken for the occurrence known as the Rapture. The Rapture is the event in which all of the dead saints are restored to life and both them and the living Christians rise to meet Jesus Christ in the clouds (1 Thess 4:16-17) where He is waiting for them (us). In the twinkling of an eye and with the noise of the trumpet (1 Cor 15:52), the saints will be called up, both the dead and the living. At this point in time, all of our corruptible bodies will be made incorruptible, perfect, in the original image of God (1 Cor 15:52-53). The technical difficulty with this event is that it is not really the Second Coming of Christ, because Jesus does not actually come down onto the earth, He.....
