(Diana was born on July 1, 1961 in Norfolk, England at Park house on the Queens Sandringham estate. Diana grew up in one of the wealthiest families in the country, the Spencer's. She was third daughter of Viscount Althorp, the eighth Earl Spencer, who had been an equerry both to George VI and the Queen. Her grandmother, Ruth, Lady Fermoy, was a close friend to the queen mother, and through close links with the British royal family, she became a childhood playmate of her future husband's younger brothers, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.
