Wright: the Father of Organic Architecture

Throughout his career, which lasted more than seven decades, Frank Lloyd Wright designed more than 1100 buildings, nearly half of which came to be completed productions. He is considered by many to be the greatest American architect of all time, because of his innovative and unparalleled architectural designs, which resulted in some of the most beautiful and eccentric structures the world has ever seen.1

Wright was born on June 8, 1867, in the pastoral town of Richland Center, Wisconsin. Richland Center was in an area of Wisconsin that included plains, streams, rivers, and trees. It was here that Wright developed his love for the natural world that later influenced his architectural style. Wright explains, "I learned to know the ground plan of the region in every line and feature...the weaving and fabric that clings to them,.....
