Summary: A history of the Vietnam War, starting with French colonization attempts in the 1940 and '50s and key events in the United States' participation in the war.
The Vietnam war was one of Americas longest and hardest wars. Even though the soldiers that came home from the war were spat at they still fought there best. Vietnam war was also known as the second Indochina war, military struggled fought in Vietnam from 1959 to 1975 involving the North Vietnamese and the National Liberation front in conflict with U.S force and the South Vietnamese army. The Vietnam war took place around 1946 when Vietnam was token over by the French. However that was just one of the possible dates that the war might have started. It is unknown when the war really started and when it ended. The French fought Vietnamese because they wanted to control Vietnam. Well I thought that they had no chance, seeing how they were with other nations and that France wasn't doing well militarily in Vietnam, using conventional warfare tactics which were ineffectual...
