The topic of researching embryonic stem cells is a very controversial and ethical issue. The controversy surrounding stem cell research has moved from being scientific and ethical to a more political based issue because of governmental funding. Scientists claim that with enough research and funding they can learn how to manipulate and use stem cells to save millions of lives. People who are pro life argue that scientists take a life when they use the embryos from an unborn baby.
