When education is first presented to us we are to young to understand what it means or even what it truly is. Is education even needed or is it done because that is the way it has been done for many years. Many see education just as what is learned but it is more than that. Education has different meanings to different people. To me education in the knowledge you acquire thought out your life though various sources.
First to understand what education is it needs to defined. According to Webster's New World Dictionary education is defined as the process of educating, especially by formal schooling, teaching or training. When I think of education I think about school, exploring new ideas, being challenged or obtaining knowledge. Education and learning go together because you can not have one without the other. It can divided in two ways the type of education you learn from school and the type that is learned at home. At school you learn fundamentals that help with the process of education. While at home what is taught is the things that are not learned at school. For example common sense, morals and values. Education can also mean knowledge because they are both obtainable. A places an education can be obtained is at school from preschool all the way to college.
Knowledge and learning are similar, if not the same as education because they all require thinking and storing information. The opposite to an education in not having one which would be hard to do because it can be easily obtained. There is nothing better than having an education, there is nothing that is superior because if you have a good education you are superior than people who have less of an education.
Education is what the person makes of it. It is needed in order to gain knowledge that will later help you find your career since there is so much competition today in the job market, the more education the better chance to receive a well paying job. The purpose on an education is to gain knowledge to be a more well-rounded person. There is only one negative consequence of an education that is the amount of time required to achieve a sufficient education. Parents are what comes before education, they are the ones you start the education process by teaching the fundamentals of early childhood education like the ABCs and 123s. Nothing comes after education because it is a never ending process due to the fact that you can learn from everyday situations and you learn something new everyday.
People say an education is the only way to succeed in life. That without one it is almost impossible to get a career that pays good money. The problem with receiving a higher education is that it is not free. For example a college education at a private college for four years and run more than 100,000 dollars that is more money than you could make once you graduate college. In California college tuition is increasing the positive side is that before you reach college from kindergarten all the way through high school it is all free. In California it is also required that all people between the ages of 5 to 16 attend school to receive some form of education. Education is everywhere it can even be found in movies. In the movie Stand And Deliver with Edward James Olmos he teaches Hispanic kids from East Los Angeles calculus. This also shows that educations has no boundaries anyone can achieve it.
Education can be accomplished by anyone. It is possible with determination, hard work and commitment those are the qualities that make education a reality. It is also feasible because it comes from other sources besides school. Knowledge can come from reading, writing, challenging ideas and other mediums. In some form and at some time every one has experienced education because it is done without even realizing it.
All the knowledge that you obtain though your life is your education. Education has many forms and can be seen in different ways. Whether it is though school or parents or even what is seen in movies. Education is a way of life and it is possible for those who try to receive it.
