Summary:   Analyzes the novel Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. Discusses the major themes of the book and desribes how they are portrayed throughout the novel.


In the novel Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, the themes of spirituality and female independence are used commonly throughout the story. Spirituality is significant in the novel because characters that are thought to be spiritual are not and those who genuinely are spiritual are rewarded. In addition, when the book was written, women were not allowed to write. Bronte shows her female independence by writing the book and by alluding throughout the story to female independence. Spirituality and independence help all the characters in their common search for love.
