After reading the excerpt called "Yali's Question" from Jarred Diamonds book Guns, Gems, and Steel you start to wonder about the distribution of the wealth and power through out the world. Yali's question brings up many issues, such as: How have certain societies (clustered largely in the area of northern Europe, east Asia, and North America) come to politically and economically dominant the societies of the rest of the world? Why do some societies have so much, and others so little? It makes the reader start to go back in time and look at the history of our world. Diamond comes up with three reasons as to why the power/wealth is the way it is. One being for the biological differences, and the innate abilities that each culture has.
