The Journal of Biblical Literature Volume 91, Number 3 of the year September 1972 addresses the issue of mistranslation and misunderstandings of particular words within the bible. This volume contains four articles written by four different scholars with varying educational backgrounds. The first article titled, In the "Image" and "Likeness" of God, written by J. Maxwell Miller, expounds on the inter-changeable words "image" and "likeness" found throughout three separate versus in the book of Genesis. This article will be the primary focus of the second two pages of this paper, and therefore will be later discussed in greater detail. The second article in this journal written by William L.
