Treatment of Elderly People

Summary: Elderly people do not deserve the treatment that today's society gives them. They are ignored because they cannot function the way they used to, they are mistreated in that we fail to recognize them for their accomplishments, and they feel isolated and alone. Elderly people need much more attention and respect than they currently receive.
One might think that elderly people are treated as equally as anyone else, but he/she might be wrong. Elderly people always experience all sorts of struggles and oppressions. Both custom and law severely limited their actions and took control over the elderly people's lives. As a result, they are voiceless, imprisoned, and unhappy. Elderly people are mistreated in my culture in different ways.

First of all, the elderly people are ignored. Many times people overlook older adults. Sometimes it is done on purpose, but other times it comes automatically. Older adults are ignored because they are helpless and practically cannot do anything anymore. They need to be taken care of because they are weak and often sick. For kids, they even might be annoying, especially when they tell them what is right and what is wrong.
