How Love Affectd Characters in Twelfth Night

Summary:  

Describes how different characters are affected by love in the play Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare.

Twelfth Night, a love comedy is one of Shakespeare's most amazing plays. Shakespeare analyses human nature, particularly our ability to love through the creation of the imaginary land, Illyria and many exaggerated characters who are blinded by love such as Duke Orsino and the fair Olivia. Love is intangible and unsubstantial, it is a magical sentimental feeling when we have strong affection or liking for someone. Love is universal, it is the most important element that adds meaning to our life. Without love, there could be no mankind. Shakespeare cleverly express the power of love by showing us how every character in the play Twelfth Night are influenced by love to various extends. In my essay, I will focus on analyzing how Orsino, Olivia, Viola and Malvolio are affected by love differently.
