Law Interests

Summary: The forefathers of this country set out to create a constitution and system of government which would alienate none, whose goal was to provide each citizen the right to pursue their own happiness and freedom, so long as it did not infringe upon that of others. In executing this noble and, some would argue, impossible task, the founders provided for a strong judicial system and a Bill Of Rights which set forth the inalienable rights of each citizen.

The role that the judicial system fulfills in relation to the function of societies is a most important one. Since the earliest primitive nomads, Humans have been compelled, through the necessity of human nature, as well as a desire to provide order, to establish sets of laws, codes, or other forms of rules which governed the accepted behavior in that particular society. For much of the past four or five years, my intense interest, (fixation may be an appropriate adjective) with the workings of every facet of the legal system has been a subject of great analysis for the scatter-brained nerve pathways which are my brain.

The conclusion which I have inadvertently arrived upon is that my interest in justice is rooted deeply in the realization that the presence of a fair and effective judicial system is of profound significance to the proper functioning of government, and in...
