Leukemia; this one disease has devastated and succumb so many lives. It is a form of cancer very unlike the others and in its own way one of the most precarious. Leukemia literary means "white blood" in Greek and refers to the cancer of white blood cells.

To understand leukemia better, the comprehension of the affected components involved in leukemia is important. Healthy blood is formulated of fluid called plasma and three types of blood cells called white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets.

White blood cells are there to fight infections and diseases.

Red blood cells carry oxygen and carbon dioxide to and from the cells of the body.

Platelets help form blood clots to control bleeding and play an important role in the clotting process.
