Summary: Brits in cities were affected badly by the bombings that occurred, and people going into the army and possibly dying. They had little access to farmed food for extras during rationing, unlike those in the countryside. People's children were sent off to the countryside to protect them, so they didn't see them for a while. Their houses may have been destroyed, health care would have been worse, as would things to do for a short while until they were reopened. They had stress from fear of being bombed, and being cluttered in the underground during the Blitz meant some people got trampled on and killed.

The Second World War appears to have had a big change on the lifestyles of most people. The effects of the war can be seen in many areas, including rationing, evacuation and the role of women. In this essay I will be giving evidence of how people's lives were changed, and whether it was for better or for worse.

When war broke out in September 1939, messages were given to people to try and keep them safe should they get attacked, including staying inside and carrying gas masks with them all the time, since there was a big fear of gas attacks. Also, cinemas and other places of big gatherings were closed to avoid crowding people together and create a target for bombings.

However, no attacks happened from Sep 1939 until April 1940, so people had begun...
